At the City of Leduc, our mission is People. Building. Community. We offer a collaborative and dynamic workplace where our values of Teamwork, Service, Respect, and Leadership guide our conduct and contribute to a healthy culture. If you would like to work as part of a progressive organization and enjoy a fast-paced environment, then this may be the opportunity for you.
Come work with usAt the City of Leduc, we wake up every day inspired to build a community that is connected, safe, and thriving. Our people are passionate about meaningful work, proud of the impact they create, and motivated by a shared purpose: to make Leduc an incredible place to live, work, and grow. If you're energized by complex municipal infrastructure projects, collaborative problem-solving, and work that shapes an entire community, this opportunity is for you
What is the Opportunity? We are seeking a dedicated Engineering Project Manager to join our Infrastructure & Planning team. This role is essential in delivering the City's capital programs and ensuring our municipal infrastructure — from roadways and water networks to stormwater systems, subdivisions, and new facility construction — is designed, implemented, and maintained to the highest standard.
This is a dynamic, impactful role where your expertise directly improves community safety, mobility, sustainability, and long-term growth. You will lead diverse engineering projects, navigate technical challenges, collaborate across departments, and represent the city as a trusted professional and project leader.
What will you do?In this role you'll lead complex capital projects, provide technical expertise across the organization, and ensure that new development aligns with the City of Leduc's engineering standards as well as the long-term vision. You will:
Lead full-cycle project management for major capital initiatives—roadways, sidewalks, water distribution, sanitary and stormwater networks, street lighting, public parks, and new or expanded City facilities.
Develop and manage RFPs and contracts, support tendering processes, assess consultant submissions, and ensure all drawings, specifications, and deliverables meet City of Leduc Engineering Standards and best practices.
Oversee construction delivery by monitoring project budgets and schedules, conducting field inspections, coordinating contractors/consultants, resolving conflicts, and managing close-out documentation including as-builts.
Provide high-level technical expertise—support water network modeling, review traffic studies, recommend safe and efficient traffic accommodations, and contribute to offsite levy model development.
Guide subdivision development by reviewing area structure plans and detailed engineering drawings, monitoring subdivision construction, and issuing CCC/FAC certificates.
Support citywide planning and decision-making through technical reports, bylaw input, capital program development, and presentations to senior management or Council.
Champion workplace and construction safety by participating in OH&S committees, maintaining accurate hazard assessments, and conducting or supporting site safety inspections.
Build strong relationships and represent the City, responding to public inquiries, liaising with multiple departments, coordinating with external agencies and developers, and supporting grant funding applications.
You're a solution-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, technical environment. You bring a balance of field experience, technical knowledge, and strong communication skills that enable you to manage complex projects and diverse stakeholders. You are committed to public service and passionate about building infrastructure that future generations will rely on.
You also bring:
A Civil Engineering Technology diploma or a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering.
Eligibility for professional designation as a C.E.T. (ASET) or P.Eng. (APEGA). Candidates with C.Tech., E.I.T., or T.T. designations and significant experience will be considered.
Minimum 5 years of municipal engineering experience, preferably with municipal or consulting environments.
Minimum 2 years of project management experience leading engineering projects.
Strong working knowledge of municipal engineering standards, MS Office, and familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS, water and sanitary modelling software (assets).
Exceptional organizational skills, the ability to multitask effectively, and a detail-oriented mindset.
Strong communication abilities with experience providing technical guidance, negotiating with contractors, and liaising with internal and external partners.
Ability to work in both office and field environments, including exposure to construction sites and varying weather conditions.
Working for the City of Leduc means joining a team that truly cares — about each other, about our residents, and about the legacy we're building. We offer:
Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits, including pension contributions and wellness supports.
A workplace that values innovation, integrity, and teamwork, where your ideas and insights are encouraged and respected.
The opportunity to make a measurable impact, contributing to engineering decisions that directly shape the growth, sustainability, and quality of life in our community.
Professional growth and development, with access to ongoing learning, mentorship, and opportunities to expand your leadership within municipal engineering.
A culture of balance and belonging, where collaboration is key, and where you'll be part of a team that celebrates shared success.
A free annual pass to City of Leduc recreation facilities, including drop-in programs.
The successful candidate must provide a current Criminal Record Check at their own expense.
Please include a cover letter outlining how your experience aligns with this role
If you're excited about taking on meaningful engineering work that shapes the future of our community, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today at and help us continue building a vibrant, sustainable, and connected City of Leduc.
Competition closes at 11:59 pm (MT) on January 07, 2026.
