Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled RED SEAL CERTIFIED Heavy Equipment INSPECTOR to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience in maintaining and repairing various types of heavy machinery. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and customer service skills, as you will be working closely with clients to ensure their equipment operates efficiently. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring all machinery meets safety standards under CVSE requirements and issuing MVI's.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical issues in heavy equipment and farm machinery.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various types of machinery, including cranes and excavators.
  • Utilize hand tools and welding equipment to assemble and repair components.
  • Interpret schematics to understand equipment layouts and troubleshoot problems effectively.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure machinery is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Assist in heavy lifting tasks as required during repairs or maintenance activities.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance performed on equipment.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
  • Experience working with farm machinery and heavy construction equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics for effective problem-solving.
  • Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with clients.
  • Capability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
  • Familiarity with operating cranes is a plus.
