Project Manager

The Henderson Group is currently seeking a skilled and dependable Project Manager with experience in Construction and Engineering to join our growing team.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from start to finish. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget—while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

This position is in office, located in Port Hope, ON

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop feasibility studies and business cases for new projects
  • Support the execution of major construction projects, acting as a liaison with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Assist with project scheduling, planning, and work execution strategies
  • Review and track shop drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design standards
  • Coordinate material procurement and equipment logistics for on-site operations
  • Monitor and report on weekly productivity, costs, and key performance indicators
  • Prepare and review cost estimates for change orders, variations, and audit documentation
  • Assist in the pricing and management of site instructions, work orders, and change notices
  • Support quality control efforts and contribute to maintaining client satisfaction
  • Prepare and submit monthly progress billings and follow up on payment processing
  • Complete project documentation and closeout packages for client handover
  • Maintain accurate project records, reports, and correspondence
  • Participate in and lead on-site safety meetings
  • Champion Henderson's safety culture, ensuring project teams and subcontractors follow safety standards
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders

What We're Looking For:

  • Graduate of a Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Mechanical Engineering program
  • 3–5 years of experience in construction, civil infrastructure, or project coordination
  • Self-starter who thrives with minimal supervision
  • Strong understanding of construction safety standards and regulatory practices
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work effectively, and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Committed, proactive, and capable of adapting to dynamic project environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with all project stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
