Telecom Aerial Rigger

Job Summary

The Telecom Aerial Rigger is responsible for performing installation, maintenance, and upgrade activities on telecom towers, rooftops, monopoles, and aerial structures. The role involves working at heights, handling rigging equipment, ensuring network equipment is safely installed, and following strict safety and OHS standards.

Duties

• Perform installation and upgrade of antennas, RRUs, microwave dishes, cables, and other telecom equipment on towers and rooftop structures.
• Execute rigging activities including hoisting, lifting, pulling, and securing equipment using certified rigging gear.
• Conduct tower climbs, structural inspections, and site audits as required.
• Install and route coax, fibre, power cables, grounding systems, and hybrid cables.
• Follow construction drawings, SOW, and engineering guidelines for site builds.
• Ensure all safety procedures are strictly followed, including fall protection, rescue readiness, and use of PPE.
• Complete daily JSA, hazard assessments, and site documentation.
• Operate winches, pulleys, rope systems, and other rigging tools safely.
• Collaborate with field engineers, technicians, and subcontractors for smooth project execution.
• Capture photos, complete closeout documentation, and report site progress.
• Maintain tools, equipment logs, and ensure rigging gear certification is up to date

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of tower climbing and fall protection systems.
• Expertise in rigging techniques (hoisting, knots, slings, pulleys, rope work).
• Ability to read engineering drawings, site plans, and tower maps.
• Hands-on experience with telecom equipment installation (antenna, RRU, MW link).
• Understanding of RF safety, electrical safety, and grounding standards.
• Excellent physical fitness, balance, and ability to work at heights.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in telecom tower or rigging work.
• Tower Climber Certification
• Fall Protection & Rescue Training (mandatory).
• First Aid/CPR (preferred).
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel.

• Physical Requirements
• Ability to climb towers up to 300+ ft.
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
• Capable of lifting and carrying 50–75 lbs of equipment.
• Long hours and extended travel may be required.

Safety Compliance

• Follow all OHS regulations, company safety policies, and RF exposure guidelines.
• Carry out site-specific rescue plans and emergency preparedness procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.15-$36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
