Corporate Communications Specialist
Maritime Electric is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in an exciting role in a fast-paced environment. You will be an integral part of the team assisting with corporate communications, community outreach, customer communications, digital communications, media relations, social media, and more. As Corporate Communications Specialist, you will learn about all different aspects of the business, including sustainability and electrical safety, to effectively communicate with stakeholders. If you have strong communication skills, a keenness for learning, and are on top of the latest trends in marketing and communications, this could be the job for you.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to write effectively for a variety of audiences and have impeccable accuracy in grammar, spelling, and content verification.
- Ability to analyze complex situations, develop plans, and make strategic recommendations.
- Experience creating communications and marketing materials for a variety of sources, including web, social media, and print.
- Strong understanding of social media channels, platforms, and trends.
- Knowledge of social media analytics and web metrics and demonstrated experience drafting reports based on analysis of digital communications statistics and reporting tools.
- Experience in media relations.
- Ability to connect and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders online and in person.
- Good understanding of graphic design principles and elements.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and to collaborate effectively as a team member.
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to exercise good judgement with quick response times while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
- The ideal candidate will have five years' experience working in the communications or public relations field.
- Experience with video and/or graphics creation using Adobe Creative Suite would be considered an asset.
- Utility communications experience is considered an asset.
- Some overtime and after-hours work will be required.
This position offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefits package. The salary range for this temporary position is between $67,000 - $82,000 per annum. Qualified individuals may submit confidentially a complete resume to Human Resources by email to by October 22, 2025.
