Mountain Animal Hospital is a privately owned, progressive small-animal practice located in beautiful Canmore, Alberta. We are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality veterinary care and creating a supportive, positive environment for both our clients and our team. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Veterinary Technician Assistant/Receptionist to join our team.

Position Overview

This hybrid role supports both the front desk and the veterinary team. The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, great with communication, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment. You will play an essential part in ensuring smooth daily operations and excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities

Reception (CSR) Duties:

  • Greet clients warmly and provide exceptional customer service
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage client communications
  • Process payments and maintain accurate medical records
  • Support client education and follow-up communications

Technician Assistant Duties:

  • Assist veterinarians and RVTs with animal handling, restraint, and basic procedures
  • Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment
  • Perform clinic cleaning, laundry, and restocking tasks
  • Support safe, low-stress animal handling
  • Assist with patient monitoring and other tasks as directed

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Canmore, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

  • Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)
  • Front desk: 2 years (preferred)
