We are seeking an accomplished Materials and Process Engineer with over 15 years of experience in aerospace materials selection, process development, and qualification.

The candidate will lead material technology development, process validation, and certification activities to ensure compliance with aerospace standards and customer requirements.

This position requires deep expertise in metallics, composites, surface treatments, coatings, adhesives, and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead materials selection, specification, and qualification for aerospace structures, systems, and components.
  • Develop and validate manufacturing and special processes including forming, heat treatment, bonding, coating, and welding.
  • Conduct material characterization and failure analysis, working with laboratories and external test facilities.
  • Prepare and maintain Material & Process Specifications (MPS) and ensure alignment with project and regulatory standards.
  • Support design, stress, and manufacturing teams in material optimization and process feasibility assessments.
  • Lead process qualification and certification in compliance with NADCAP, AS9100, and customer requirements.
  • Manage root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for material or process-related issues.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to qualify raw materials, treatments, and coatings for production.
  • Drive continuous improvement and introduction of advanced materials or manufacturing technologies.
  • Support airworthiness certification activities and documentation per FAA/EASA/Military standards.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and review critical documentation.

Pay: $78,079.35-$143,170.21 per year
