Diesel Technician Responsibilities:

  • Performs basic automotive and truck maintenance services including but not limited to rotating, replacing, mounting and balancing tires, adjusting fluids and coolants, oil and filter changes and brake adjustments
  • Maintains a clean, efficient work area and assists in keeping the shop neat
  • Ensures that customer vehicles are repaired accurately and kept clean - road test vehicles to ensure qualify repairs the first time.
  • Diagnoses malfunctions and perform the necessary repairs for them under the direction of a senior or master technician
  • Full Automotive troubleshooting and testing under the direction of a senior technician
  • Performs additional duties related to the repair of vehicles as required and assigned by senior or master technician or Supervisors
  • Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
  • Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order
  • Communicates with service advisor and/or dispatcher if additional work is needed
  • Aids service writer as needed to write work orders, conduct test rides, interact with the customer, or in any other way you are able to guarantee customer satisfaction
  • Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer and in accordance with company policies

Diesel Technician Requirements:

  • A high school diploma and/or GED is required. Combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skill, and abilities.
  • 310 T Licence
