Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team, MUST BE ITALIAN SPEAKING. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals, particularly seniors and those with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, effective communication skills, and the ability to handle various caregiving tasks in a respectful and professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor patients for any side effects or changes in condition.
  • Assist with mobility and heavy lifting as needed to ensure patient safety.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
  • Support individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments through engaging activities and companionship.
  • Document patient progress and report any concerns to healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with family members and other caregivers to create effective care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Uphold medical terminology standards when communicating patient information.

Experience

  • Previous experience in patient care or caregiving is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with senior care practices, dementia care, and working with persons with disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology will be beneficial in understanding patient needs and communicating effectively with healthcare teams.
  • A strong ability to perform physical tasks related to caregiving, including heavy lifting when necessary.
