Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with various types of heavy equipment, including excavators, rock trucks, bull dozers and other heavy equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet and equipment.

Duties

  • Diagnose and repair issues on heavy equipment such as excavators, rock trucks, bull dozers and other heavy equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance including inspections, lubrication, and part replacements
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to execute repairs and assembly tasks
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot complex problems
  • Operate heavy machinery for testing or calibration purposes when required
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment or upgrades to existing machinery

Requirements

  • Certification as a Red Seal Heavy Equipment Mechanic
  • Ability to work after hours and weekends if required
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Ability to shift priorities as needed

This position offers an opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute their expertise in maintaining vital industrial equipment while working in a dynamic environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50.00-$55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 per week
