The Bayshore Northern Staffing team has proudly been working in partnership with to Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) and Northern Communities across Canada since 1997 sending healthcare professionals on travel assignments to bring high-quality healthcare services to the Northern communities in need.

Now, we are looking for skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with Operating Room and/or PACU experience to join our new travel team who will be sent on short-term travel assignments in acute care hospitals across British Columbia and Manitoba.

Duties & Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients within the Operating Room (OR) according to established standards and administrative policies and procedures.
  • Assess patients' physical and psycho-social needs; identifies problems, plans, implements, documents, evaluates and coordinates the nursing care of assigned patients and performs scrubbing and circulating duties.
  • Obtains, checks, sets up and positions supplies, instruments and equipment required for surgery ensuring that instruments and equipment are in working order
  • Coordinate and provide nursing care to patients according to physician and anesthetist orders and in conformance with established standards and hospital policies.

Candidate Requirements

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • A minimum of 18 months (1.5 years) of experience working in a Operating Room or PACU environment.
  • Current and valid CPR/BLS.
