Truss / Floor Estimator- Designer

Truss Fab Inc. is looking for full-time Truss / Floor Estimator- Designer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential and/or commercial construction estimating and design. The Truss / Floor Designer is involved in assisting the Design Department with preparing correspondence, reports, statements and other material. The Truss Designer may also be involved in other duties as required by the department or the company. The ideal candidate should be a strong team player and possess superior communication skills, both written and oral. This position is office based, Monday to Friday with some overtime as required.

The successful candidate will receive FULL company paid benefits after 90-days.

Rate of Pay: Dependent on Experience

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design, Estimate and perform layout and consultations of floor or roofs for residential and commercial construction.
  • Prepare drawings for manufacturing and erecting wood building components.
  • Provides technical support to customers, production and sales staff.
  • Consults with engineers, building officials and contractors on projects specs.
  • Other job-related duties as required.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Diploma from a recognized architectural, civil or construction engineering program is an asset.
  • Experience with Alpine/Mitek software in truss and floor design required.
  • Strong understanding of both residential and commercial building design.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, logical and efficient, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment. Actively listen and meet deadlines.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn.
  • Positive energy and problem-solving approach in all situations.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle, as this is a non-bus route.
