Windsor, Ontario, Canada S&R Group Full time

Company Description
We are S&R Group and for over 60 years we have been building communities "where friendships flourish and life is enriched". We are looking for people who, like us, believe the work we do has a positive impact on their community and that together we can continue supporting our Residents and their families.

Job Description
At our Long Term Care homes, we pride ourselves on creating a warm and welcoming culinary atmosphere with fantastic food. As a Dietary Aide, you help serve our Residents during meal times and special events.

If you were working for us as a Dietary Aide, here are some of the things you would have done last week:

  • Greeted Residents and answered questions in a courteous and professional manner
  • Connected with some of your Residents to see how their day was or if they were looking forward to any events as they sit down at their table
  • Serve attractive, nutritious meals being mindful of special diets, textures, and needs of the Residents
  • Experienced the joy of making a positive impact by serving nutritious, comforting meals to Residents
  • Participated in establishing and maintaining a home-like environment, including the dining experience
  • Participated in a special recreation event like a cupcake tasting competition for the Residents, or summer barbeque for the Home
  • Set up and cleared the dining room
  • Washed dishes, cleaned and sanitized the kitchen area
  • Assisted with food preparation as assigned
  • And supported your team as needed.

When you apply, if you have your credentials, we will try our best to reach out to you within the week (hopefully within a few days). When you're eligible with us for benefits, you can expect a variety of them:

  • Flexibility in shift scheduling to support your home life
  • When eligible, you can enjoy full range of extended Health benefits
  • Pension/RRSP matching
  • And many Company Events like our annual recognition parties, team theme parties, lunches, outings, gift cards, and paid days off

We prioritize promoting from within and support our employees' educational needs because we care for the team we have put together. We come to our workplace each day understanding that we are entering our Residents' Home, and we are there to support them. While we don't take ourselves seriously, we take our jobs seriously and love to have fun with each other and the Residents

Qualifications
To be hired into this role, you must have:

  • Certification in the Food Safety Awareness Course with recertification every 5 years
  • Past experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or restaurant setting
  • Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months
  • TB 2 Step updated within the last year
