The Night Auditor is a passionate and dedicated hospitality professional who works as part of the Front Office team and is responsible for supporting the organization's objective of delivering unparalleled service to our valued guests. The Night Auditor is responsible for the overnight operations of the Hotel in addition to verifying the accuracy of guest accounts, balancing charges, and completing other assigned tasks.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Prepare the daily night audit proceedings and system back-ups
  • Audit, balance and report on all cash and credit operations to include but not limited to checks, over/short figures, deposits, counts, house charges, postings, etc. and reset all registers to ensure accurate, timely information.
  • Audit, balance, post and report on the front desk to include but not limited to; room charges, zero balance folios, corrections, adjustments, taxes, disputed charges, over/short figures, deposits to ensure accuracy and verify proper cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Ensure any discrepancies are reported and brought to the attention of the Director of Finance.
  • Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for preparation of daily reports.
  • Balance and close all bank ticket codes, daily.
  • Assist in taking and placing wake-up calls, as needed.
  • Perform the duties of Guest Service Agent including check in/check out.
  • Perform the duties of Bell/Door/Valet.
  • Have thorough knowledge of emergency and front office procedures.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of guests and staff during the overnight period.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2-5 years' front desk experience as a hotel manager is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word and hospitality software.
  • A proven track record of being able to lead a team and to multitask.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to work beyond scheduled hours, including on weekends.
  • An ability to identify areas in need of change or improvement to offer guests an excellent hotel experience.
  • Understanding of and compliance with hotel policies and regulations and communicating these clearly to the staff.
  • Reporting on daily operations in a timely manner.
