THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an immediate opening for a full-time Retrofit Project Manager located in Grande Praiyre / Fort. St. John.

Reporting directly to the Retrofit Manager and working closely with all departments, this position will have responsibility for the project managing of retrofit gas compression packages.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage multiple projects.
  • Monitoring, assessing, and reporting project progress by creating and managing project schedules and deliverables for on-time delivery.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of cost adders and change order management.
  • Proactively supporting the procurement of assigned equipment and materials, providing answers to customer and shop queries.
  • Making regular shop inspections to ensure compliance with design and project schedule.
  • Supporting the shop team throughout the fabrication and assembly process.
  • Manage all aspects of project performance including planning and execution, performance monitoring, deliverable commitments, project cost, schedule and quality, tracking progress of project against milestones on an on-going basis, taking corrective action as required.
  • Plan, schedule and organize all phases of assigned projects.
  • Responsible for managing all change order requests, including cost, schedule and contract implications.
  • Regularly assess project risks and risk mitigation plans
  • Some applications/quoting duties.
  • Maintain financial reporting on project health and performance.
  • Effectively and accurately report overall project status to both internal and external customers and to management.
  • Participate in all client meetings, including Design Reviews, HAZOP, Pre-Start Up Audits, etc.
  • Analyze and resolve technical, commercial and operational issues with functional team members.
  • Coordinate activities with clients, suppliers and other departments as they relate to Retrofit projects.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, government regulations, and customer specifications.
  • Represent the project to internal stakeholders, acting as the liaison between project management, functional managers and corporate support groups through prompt accurate response to queries and effective transmittal of information.
  • Assist field support teams as required; some travel required.
  • Contribute to, develop and maintain project management best practices at Bidell Gas Compression.
  • Evaluate customer requirements, request for quotation documents and specifications resulting in the optimal Retrofit solution offering.
  • Conduct the front-end design/selection/sizing of package equipment and perform costing using internal sizing and costing tools.
  • Participate in project definitions and technical bid preparation.
  • Work closely with the Sales team to ensure quality quotes are provided which reflect both the current market as well as client requirements.
  • Ensure a clear and efficient transition of all project information to the Engineering team upon award.
  • Additional responsibilities as deemed appropriate

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Project Manager in oil/gas equipment fabrication or in a multi-disciplined construction business
  • Previous experience in project estimating in oil and gas capital projects considered an asset.
  • Experience in design and manufacturing of natural gas compressor packages preferred but not necessary.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills Relevant Gas Processing experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong self-starter skills and ability to perform successfully with limited supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills Proficient in the use of MS Office suite, including MS Project.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills are required and the ability to positively influence others.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with other professionals.
  • Engineering degree, technical diploma or equivalent experience
