We are looking for an experienced Intermediate to Senior Process Engineer to join our team
As a Process Engineer, you will play a key role in evaluating process systems and developing technical solutions for both greenfield and brownfield projects. This includes process optimization, process safety, and equipment sizing and selection. This position may be based in any of the Wave offices, but preference will be given to candidates based in Calgary.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Depending on your experience and aspirations, the role may include the following in the context of an Industrial market sector:
- Serve as the technical lead for process engineering deliverables and design activities.
- Act as an Authenticating Professional for Wave in the process engineering discipline, providing technical direction and authentication of engineered drawings and calculations.
- Ensure engineering and project objectives are achieved within specified deadlines and budgets.
- Develop and manage key technical documents including Design Basis Memorandums (DBMs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Line Designation Tables (LDTs), and supporting process documentation.
- Perform process simulations, hydraulic modeling, equipment rating, and selection; support hazard identification and risk reviews (HAZOPs).
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of company technical standards, procedures & process tools.
- Prepare specifications, design calculations, simulations, and drawings to meet project requirements.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technologists to ensure quality and consistency of deliverables.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Professional Engineer designation with APEGA.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Petroleum, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant process engineering design experience within the oil and gas sector.
- Proficiency with ASPEN HYSYS and strong understanding of process design fundamentals.
- Enjoys hands-on technical work and solving complex engineering problems.
- Demonstrated collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to balance competing project deadlines and priorities.
- Proven ability to act as a technical lead for process engineering tasks from concept through detailed design.
- Solid knowledge of Canadian codes, standards, and industry regulations.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and ability to travel for client meetings or site visits.
- Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.
ADDITIONAL ASSETS

- Client development experience, including direct engagement with clients to understand needs and develop practical solutions.
- Project management experience on small to mid-size multidisciplinary projects.
- Ability to mentor or lead junior technical team members and foster a culture of learning
- Field experience, providing practical insight for design and execution
