Farm Underwriter

We are currently recruiting for an Intermediate or Senior Farm Underwriter with a proven track record and extensive experience in farm underwriting.

Position Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate risks within the farm lines portfolio
• Rating/pricing of risks using sound underwriting judgment
• Negotiation of renewal terms and new quotes
• Process new policies, renewals, and endorsements per our underwriting guidelines
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with our broker partners
• Provide product training and support to brokers
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to review information carefully & comprehensively
• Mentor junior underwriting staff aiding in their career development
• Meet company service standards in a prompt and efficient manner

Qualifications:

• Strong decision-making skills and ability to bring creativity to underwriting risks
• Well organized and thorough approach to completing tasks
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
• Post-Secondary education
• 5+ years of farm underwriting experience
• CIP designation or actively pursuing
