Overview
Ascent Elevator Co. is seeking experienced elevator mechanics — and skilled tradespeople with strong mechanical or electrical backgrounds who are eager to learn the elevator trade. We're willing to train the right candidate.
This position offers flexible contract, piece work, or casual arrangements with above-average compensation. You'll be part of a family-oriented team installing and servicing premium residential elevators across the Okanagan Valley.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced elevator mechanics, or skilled trades professionals (electricians, millwrights, HVAC techs, mechanics, etc.) who take pride in precision craftsmanship and want to enter a specialized, high-demand field.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair home elevator systems and related components.
- Read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams for accurate installation and troubleshooting.
- Work with low-voltage systems, logic controllers, and mechanical assemblies.
- Perform fabrication, alignment, and finishing work as needed for installations.
- Conduct quality checks, adjustments, and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain accurate digital records of all work performed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency on every project.
- Travel to project sites across Alberta (travel expenses covered).
Experience & Qualifications
Preferred:
- Experience in elevator installation, service, or maintenance (residential or commercial).
- Familiarity with traction, hydraulic, or pneumatic elevator systems.
Also Considered:
- Journeyman or apprentice-level experience in electrical, mechanical, or related skilled trades.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, troubleshooting, and low-voltage wiring.
- Mechanical aptitude, ability to read schematics, and proficiency with power tools.
- Commitment to safety, precision, and delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment as required.
