Under the direction of the Team Lead or designate, the Social Worker works within the organization's framework and standards, and a rehabilitation/recovery harm reduction focused model. As a member of an interdisciplinary engagement and treatment team, the Social Worker provides assessment, harm reduction strategies, intervention, treatment, outreach and/or detoxification and/or recovery consultation and referral for clients experiencing substance use problems and their caregivers/families as client defines. Travel may be a requirement of this position and transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Northern Health.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work:
Monday to Friday, Days, 08:30 to 16:30

Dawson Creek
Wide blue skies and the rolling foothills of the Northern Rockies surround Dawson Creek. The city is also known as the Mile Zero City, as it marks the start of the Alaska Highway, a 2,400 km long highway connecting Alaska and the Yukon to Western Canada and the United States. Dawson Creek has a population of approximately 12,500. It provides primary service to a population of approximately 20,000 and helps serve the larger population of the Peace River Region of 60,000. There are eleven elementary schools, one middle school and one secondary school. The Northern Lights College provides adult education.
