Job Description

We are currently looking for a Senior RF Engineer
to join our team. This position involves all aspects of RF and analogue electronics design and development, with a particular focus on leading our Over The Horizon Radar RF development.

    This is a mandatory requirement to obtain the necessary Government of Canada security clearance under the Controlled Goods Program.

Senior Responsibilities

  • Assisting with client and project qualification
  • Analysing requirements to determine design specifications
  • Writing specifications, technical documents, and reports
  • Overseeing the work of junior staff implementing your designs
  • Authenticating engineering documents

Technical Skills

Advanced RF design skills from HF through microwave, including:

  • High-power and low-noise amplifiers
  • Basic antenna and matching circuit design
  • Passive and active filter synthesis and design
  • Feedback control loop design

Additional experience:

  • High reliability HF power amplifier design (highly desirable)
  • Various simulation tools and electronics calculators
  • Schematic design and circuit board layout (Orcad/Cadence or Altium)
  • Hardware debugging and testing, prototype assembly (digital, analogue, RF)
  • Experience designing and building amateur radio power amplifiers in the HF bands

Educational and Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electronics
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience (ideally 15+ years of experience)
  • Eligibility for a Canadian security clearance is mandatory

You can work independently and know how to delegate when appropriate. You're comfortable working both on your own and as part of a team. You have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. You love hands-on R&D and thrive on finding novel solutions to complex technical problems.
