SENIOR RESEARCH ANALYST (2 POSITIONS):

$78, $89,127.26 Annually

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Research Analyst undertakes a broad range of complex analytical and research initiatives designed to support the activities of the Research Department and to support the business activities of BC Housing Management Commission. These would include conducting major analytical and research projects; participating in the development of policies and procedures; researching and developing new measures for the Service Plan, revising measures and assisting with the Performance Measurement Framework in the Commission's accountability framework, developing and maintaining a database/information system to support program activities; developing Web Focus reports in collaboration with Information Technology staff to meet the information needs of the Commission, extracting data and information from these Web Focus reports, managing research projects including conducting research, summarizing findings, preparing reports and making recommendations for consideration by senior management and the Board of Commissioners for BC Housing.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will have the following:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • A Masters degree in planning, economics, business, or a related social science discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing complex research projects and producing reports;
  • Experience with database administration;
  • Experience with relational databases and the ability to extract, summarize and analyze data
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the employer

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and Access;
  • Experience with relational databases and the ability to extract, summarize and analyze data
  • Good knowledge of research methods;
  • Ability to plan, organize and manage complex research projects;
  • Good verbal and written communications skills;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to identify key milestones or measures of success;
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team;
  • Knowledge of social housing and social policy would be an asset.
