Intermediate or Senior Electrical Designer
to join their Engineering team in Vancouver, BC. Our client is known for technical excellence and long-standing client partnerships, this firm delivers high-quality designs for complex building projects across diverse sectors. With a strong pipeline of work and a collaborative, mentorship-driven culture, this is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced designer to make a significant technical impact while advancing their career. In this role you will lead and deliver electrical system designs for a wide range of building projects. You will work closely with internal teams, and clients, ensuring design quality and compliance while mentoring junior staff.

  • Pay Rate: $75,000 - $90,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Location: Vancouver, BC

Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical system design from concept through IFC and construction with minimal supervision
  • Design low- and medium-voltage distribution, lighting and controls, fire alarm systems, and mechanical equipment connections
  • Prepare detailed design documentation, including single-line diagrams, service room layouts, and distribution designs
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, sub-consultants, and contractors
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, electrical codes, fire alarm standards, ASHRAE, and LEED requirements
  • Interface with utilities, including BC Hydro standards, service upgrades, variances, and new service requests
  • Support construction administration activities: shop drawing reviews, change orders, site reviews, and reports
  • Mentor and guide junior and intermediate designers
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in building consulting engineering (minimum 2 years in BC)
  • Strong understanding of new developments and tenant improvement projects
  • Experience across residential, mixed-use, commercial, healthcare, and institutional projects
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead design discussions
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of both small and large project teams
  • Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
