THE POSITION

This position will assist in all areas of the company's asset management and investment functions including the following:

  • Underwrite value-add strategies, acquisitions, and development projects
  • Prepare financial reporting and cash flow forecasting
  • Read, abstract and analyze complex legal real estate documentation to include leases, financing / loan agreements, and mortgage documents
  • Perform financial analyses for a portfolio of income producing and development properties, including calculating net effective rents, returns on equity/ investment, internal rates of return and other measures appropriate for performance measurement
  • Evaluate real estate market data, economic, and demographic information
  • Compile presentations for senior management which has a high quality of accuracy and visual layout
  • Assist in development and implementation of annual budgets and business plans to maximize the value of the portfolio including hold/sell recommendations

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, finance, economics, or related field
  • Experience working with Argus is an asset but not a requirement
  • Experience in valuations and financial modelling (in particular, experience with development finance and underwriting is an asset)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel; PowerPoint; Word; Outlook; and ability to learn and master new applications
