We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and person-centered
Community Support Worker
to support an individual, in living a full, connected, and meaningful life in her community. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys being active in the community, is comfortable supporting a wide range of interests, and is committed to promoting dignity, independence, and choice.
Duties And Responsibilities
This is a great opportunity to support a vibrant and community-oriented person whose Sikh faith and cultural practices are meaningful parts of her life. She enjoys visiting local Sikh temples throughout the Lower Mainland, spending time at the gym, going shopping, dining out, and watching movies at the cinema. She also enjoys a variety of beverages—especially coffee, tea, and soft drinks.
Her musical interests range from Sikh and Hare Krishna devotional music to artists such as Akon, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, DMX, Bob Marley, Miss Pooja, and Punjabi Bhangra. When it comes to movies, she enjoys a wide variety of genres, except for horror and Harry Potter films. She follows a vegetarian lifestyle.
Support Workers will be assisting her to participate in these interests, access her community safely, and maintain routines that are meaningful to her.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respectful, person-centered support in community settings
- Assist with planning and participating in outings such as temple visits, gym sessions, shopping, dining out, and movie outings
- Support the individual in engaging with her cultural and faith-based activities
- Encourage independence while providing guidance and safety when needed
- Assist with daily living routines as required
- Maintain clear communication and accurate documentation
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment

CSW: $24.50/hour to $26.65/hour
