  • 37 hrs a week for 14 weeks
  • Contract goes from February 1 – May 8, 2026
  • Salary $25.95 an hour
  • Criminal Record check clearance required.
  • Reports to Community Development Coordinator

Position Summary:

Outreach support worker will help set participants up for success by engaging with them in between classes and for a short time after their session to strengthen skills learned in class, engage in problem solving around attendance, communication with the other parent, visitation with children, and bridge to further resources, all strengthening the participants ability to fully engage in the new behaviour.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:

· Client support: Provide individual and group support and advocacy for immigrant, refugee, and visible minority women and their children.

  • Resource navigation: Connect clients with community resources to help them navigate new environments and overcome challenges.
  • Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of vulnerable populations with other professionals and within the community.
  • Cross-cultural communication: Use effective communication skills to build rapport with diverse clients and community partners.
  • Other duties as required and requested.
  • Check in and update the Community Development Coordinator after each class.

Qualifications

  • Education: A relevant Degree in social work, counseling, or a related field or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Experience: Experience working with immigrant, refugee, or visible minority populations is highly desirable. Experience in providing supportive counseling or facilitating groups is also valuable.
  • Language skills: Proficiency in multiple languages spoken and written.
  • Skills: Knowledge of gender-based violence, acculturation issues, and relevant community resources is beneficial. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.
