Activate is a tech company known for creating Canada's first full-scale interactive gaming facility. We are experiencing significant expansion and are looking to expand our team with the addition of a Project Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Future Growth, the ideal candidate will have a background in commercial construction, logistics, and project coordination. The Project Coordinator will assist with projects being managed on a national/international footprint as well as retrofit projects to upgrade our existing store facilities.

The Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist the Project Manager and Installations Manager with day-to-day coordination tasks, including scheduling, documentation, and team communications.
  • Work closely with purchasing, manufacturing, and distribution teams to ensure timely delivery of products and materials to project sites.
  • Coordinate documentation and logistics to support efficient onboarding of subcontractors.
  • Communicate with landlords to ensure project compliance with their requirements and track all necessary documentation to support Tenant Improvement reimbursements.
  • Maintain project checklists and coordinate team activities to ensure milestones are met on schedule and within budget.
  • Escalates technical issues to appropriate leaders and assists in resolving coordination challenges
  • Prepares project reports for management, clients, or others as required.
  • Track contractor progress and assist in managing change orders and related documentation.
  • Analyze lease agreements to extract and monitor key project-related details.
  • On occasion, travel to US and Canadian locations for site visits.

The Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial construction project coordination.
  • Education or certifications in Project Management is preferred.
  • Ability and eligibility to work in Canada and the US.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and other MS Office products.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to manage several projects at once as well as excellent multitasking abilities.
  • Basic understanding of architectural and engineering drawings is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
