We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight and cargo across various routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and professionalism, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of goods in transit. Experience with heavy equipment operation and automotive repair is a plus, contributing to smooth operations and vehicle maintenance.
Duties
- Safely operate trucks for local gravel and equipment deliveries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload aggregates and/or heavy equipment as needed
- Inspect vehicles regularly for maintenance needs and perform basic automotive repairs or coordinate repairs with maintenance teams
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery records and safety paperwork
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and office
- Assist with shop maintenance, repairs and anything else as required
- Operate heavy equipment safely when necessary for loading or unloading aggregates and/or equipment
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid license
- Familiarity with aggregate and equipment hauling & handling procedures
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and basic automotive repair skills are desirable
- Prior experience in logistics or transportation roles is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to trucking and freight handling
- Ability to navigate routes efficiently and adapt to changing schedules or conditions
- Works well with little to no supervision
- Understands directions, navigation, and safety a must
