First Year Representative Volunteer Position

Time Commitment

8-month term from September 2025 to April 30th, 2026. If this position is subject to an honorarium, payouts will be in accordance with the Human Resources Honoraria Policy Grid which can be accessed here:

Roles and Responsibilites

Student Advocacy: Represent the interests, concerns, and ideas of first-year History students to the DSC and Faculty.Event & Program Support:Assist in planning and executing social, academic, and professional development events for first-year students.Communication & Outreach: Share updates, opportunities, and resources from the DSC with first-year History students via email, social media, or class announcements.Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from first-year students on courses, events, and overall experience, and relay it to DSC leadership for consideration.Collaboration: Work closely with other DSC executives and representatives to ensure initiatives are inclusive and meet the needs of all students.Engagement: Encourage first-year students to participate in DSC activities, clubs, and campus opportunities.
