Customer Service Representative – APPS Transport Group

APPS Transport Group currently has an opening for a Customer Service Representative (Monday to Friday shift). Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, this individual will collaborate with various departments to meet customer commitments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer inquiries via telephone and email promptly and professionally.
  • Track and trace pickups and deliveries (locally & Westbound).
  • Book pickup appointments and accept EDI orders.
  • Work closely with dispatch, CS Payables, sales reps, dock, and OSDR to accommodate customer needs.
  • Handle special requests based on customer requirements.
  • Enter real-time notes into probills as events occur.
  • Retrieve and provide PODs/BOLs as needed.
  • Monitor dock reports and follow up with customers on potential shipment delays.
  • Notify customers of delays for outbound containers moving Westbound.
  • Coordinate with West terminals to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manage Command Pages and update customer portals.
  • Perform other administrative and support duties as required.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a customer support role with a strong motivation to assist customers and resolve issues.
  • Transportation industry experience is an asset.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations professionally and diplomatically.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook (experience with TruckMate is an asset).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Proactive with initiative and confidence in internal and external communication.
  • Completed post-secondary education is an asset.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
