Duties

As an Intermediate Designer at Niche Decor, you will support our senior designers and contribute to creating beautiful, functional spaces for our clients. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in design consults with senior designers, taking detailed notes on client preferences, requirements, and feedback.
  • Track and maintain accurate project hours, client logs, drawings, correspondence, and other project materials.
  • Ensure accuracy of all dimensions, drawings, and design details.
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships, maintaining confidence and professionalism at all times.
  • Prepare thoughtful, comprehensive presentations that reflect client needs, creative design solutions, and Niche Decor standards.
  • Price products according to company guidelines and assist in closing presentations with timely deposits for orders.
  • Maintain constant communication with senior designers regarding project progress and address any challenges promptly.
  • Keep clients informed on product ETAs and coordinate installations according to their preferences.
  • Support mindful sales generation, balancing client budgets with company profitability.
  • Organize and maintain detailed project records, client binders, and our resource library.
  • Stay current with industry trends and product knowledge, including supplier offerings, customization options, and company policies.
  • Participate in client installations and stylings as needed.
  • Prepare for and attend all client presentations, following up with detailed notes.
  • Support photoshoots of showroom and client projects.
  • Assist in training and coaching new team members or summer interns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in residential interior design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft PowerPoint is essential; familiarity with other design software is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a professional client-facing demeanor.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Passion for high-end residential design and a strong understanding of current design trends.
  • Collaborative team player who is proactive, resourceful, and eager to learn.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
  • A portfolio showcasing previous design work or projects is required for consideration.
