Case Aide (6 Month Contract)JOB FUNCTIONUnder the supervision of the Service Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for assisting staff in providing services to children, youth, and families and assisting with access visits.QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION:Two (2) year Social Service Worker, Child and Youth Worker diploma, or other diploma in the social services field with relevant experience.WORK EXPERIENCE:Minimum two (2) years relevant experience working with children and families, preferably in child welfare.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist caseworkers with managing case files and documentation.Support case management tasks by gathering and organizing client information.Assist in preparing reports, correspondence, and other case-related documents.Help facilitate family visits, including transport as necessary.Attend and take notes in meetings related to cases and provide follow-up as required.Assist with the scheduling of meetings and appointments for clients and staff.Ensure confidentiality and security of client information at all times.Provide administrative support to caseworkers, including managing files, databases, and systems.Assist with preparing and organizing case-related materials for court hearings, if applicable.Other duties as assigned related to casework and administration.REQUIREMENTS:Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and Ministry standards (e.g. the Child and Family Services Act).Demonstrated knowledge of Intersectionality, cultural competency and clinical practice within an anti-oppression framework.Demonstrated advanced verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to develop concise and thorough reports is required.Demonstrated advanced verbal and written communication skills in French, including the ability to develop concise and thorough reports is considered an asset.Good understanding of the agency’s values, service philosophy and objectives.Clinical knowledge of child maltreatment, child development, attachment and separation, and family dynamics.Demonstrated clinical and counseling skills to provide assessment, engagement and support services to youth and families.Knowledge of evidence informed practice.Familiarity with community resources.Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.Demonstrated problem solving, planning, priority-setting, and conflict resolution skills.Demonstrated presentation skills to represent the society in the community and legal proceedings.Demonstrated interpersonal and collaboration skills to coordinate effectively with a broad variety of agency departments/staff.Commitment to acquire and update professional skills and clinical knowledge through participation in training, education, and other professional development opportunities.Ability to maintain the appropriate safeguards for the confidentiality of Agency and client information.Extensive knowledge and proficient competence of computer software (e.g. Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).Possess and maintain a valid Class “G” Driver’s License and personal insurance coverage with access to a reliable vehicle.Provide a negative Vulnerable Sector Check.
