Outdoor Skating Attendant

The Granite Club is looking for a seasonal Outdoor Skating Attendant who will be responsible for all functions of the Outdoor Skating Rink including but not limited to themaintenance of the ice, supervision of the rink, and ensuring Members are following policies and procedures for the safety and enjoyment of all. What’s in it For You?Collaborative & Engaging Work Environment: Join a culture that values innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Exclusive Perks: Enjoy discounted memberships at GoodLife Fitness, as well as preferred rates on auto and home insurance.Vibrant Employee Events: Participate in a variety of inclusive and exciting events that celebrate our culture.On-Site Culinary Experience: Access to healthy, delicious meals daily at our Employee Cafeteria.Convenient Indoor Parking: Complimentary indoor parking to make your commute easier.Primary Responsibilities:Responsible for the safety of all Members using the outdoor skating rink.Supervision of the Outdoor Skating Rink and surrounding area ensuring all rules and procedures are followed.Maintenance of the ice and surrounding area using flooding tolls, snow shovel, Ice picks, snow blower & tractor/zamboni.Practice Granite Gold Hospitality by providing outstanding Member service to the membership and their guests.Maintain a clean environment which includes tidying up the surrounding space around the rink to ensure any accessories are in proper locations.Providing tips on skating technique to the membership.Regular input, feedback and communication with supervisory staff regarding operational enhancement of the Skating Rink and the surrounding area; open communication with Facilities Team on any issues or concerns with the rink.Various tasks include updating the rink condition line, inputting sign-in data and usage statistics, and staying up to date with policies and procedures. Punctual opening and closing of facility, utilizing appropriate security procedures and departmental standards.Consistent presentation of a professional image.Responds to and/or assists with on-site emergencies, incidents and accidents, which may involve the provision of Standard First Aid, CPR, the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and/or the completion of an accident/incident report, when required.Required Qualifications:Strong Ice Skater.Rink attendant or skating coach experience is an asset.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Current First Aid/CPR certification.Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.Professional disposition.Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.Team and service oriented, enthusiastic, co-operative, reliable, creative, well-groomed.About the Granite Club:The Granite philosophy of uncompromising quality is showcased in its state-of-the-art athletic facilities, world-class events and programs for all ages, delectable dining experiences and personalized services, each tailored to suit the varied needs and desires of its diverse and sophisticated Membership.The Granite Club is Canada's premier private Members' family, athletic, recreation and social club.
