Stores Clerk

POSITION (JOB) SUMMARY:
The Stores Clerk is responsible for purchasing stock items, receiving all items to the hospital, maintaining inventory levels and some administrative duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Inventory:

- Provide input to Purchasing Clerk as to appropriate stock levels, on an annual basis
- Maintain appropriate stock levels in the stores areas, on the ER exchange carts and the in-patient stores room
- Remove expired products from stock and provide listing to Purchasing Clerk for rebate
- Fill and distribute requisitioned supplies for all departments
- Fill requisitions from other agencies (EGH, IDA, Island Health Centres) and Dialysis on a weekly basis, if required
- Conduct a physical inventory count at both hospitals in preparation for the annual audit

Purchasing:

- Prepare purchase orders for stock items using the electronic material management software
- Place orders for inventory stock items
- Comply with Group Purchasing Organization contracts or where not possible coordinate with other vendors
- Follow-up on incorrect, duplicate, back ordered and return items for repair

Receiving:

- Maintain accurate supporting documentation and records
- Deliver all goods to MHC departments as well as to the HSN Dialysis program

Administration:

- Provide daily local courier service for mail, purchases or bank deposits
- Provide daily (Monday to Friday) delivery service to Mindemoya Hospital for laundry, sterilized and surgical supplies, blood samples as well as mail pick-up
- Ensure van is scheduled for regular maintenance checks
- Complete van travel log on a daily basis
- Delivery fax mail to business office

General:

- Clean receiving area, van and garage keeping areas free of obstructions
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Corporate Support Services Manager

**QUALIFICATIONS**(Education, Certifications, Experience, Licensure):

- Secondary School Diploma
- Current driving abstract and valid Class G driver’s license
:

- Secondary School Diploma with courses in computer sciences and/or business courses

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
