Civil Pipelayer

You'll be responsible for installing different types of pipes, such as sewer, water, and drainage pipes, by interpreting engineering plans and blueprints.

**Responsibilities**:

- Installs various types of pipes, such as sewer, water, and drainage pipes, and telecommunications systems.
- Interprets engineering plans and blueprints to determine the location, layout, and type of pipes to be installed.
- Uses equipment such as lasers and tape measures to establish accurate elevations and grades for pipe installation.
- Prepares the ground for curb and sidewalk installations in accordance with project specifications.
- Conducts water pressure and chlorination tests to ensure that installed pipes are functioning properly.
- Conducts sewer pressure tests to ensure that installed pipes are leak-free and functioning properly.
- Conducts quality control checks to ensure that pipes are not damaged during installation, that grades are set appropriately, and that backfilling is done to the appropriate specifications.
- Works with heavy equipment operators to coordinate pipe installation and ensure that work is done safely and efficiently.
- Assumes leadership responsibilities and acts as the point of contact for the project superintendent in their absence.

**Experience**:

- 3+ years of experience as a Pipelayer or similar role is preferred.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction plans.
- Knowledge of different types of pipes, fittings, and welding techniques.
- Familiarity with operating heavy machinery such as excavators and loaders.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $32.00-$39.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
