Job description
**About the Position**:
This position provides a variety of reception and general clerical duties for the WorkBC Centre clients and staff. As the first point of contact for the clients, this position requires knowledge of all Employment Services and the ability to create a friendly, warm environment for all individuals using the services.
**Job Skills and Abilities**:
- Proven switchboard operation skills.
- Proven word processing skills
- Good interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy and good judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, to work with mínimal supervision, to take initiative, to organize and prioritize workload and to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to establish/maintain satisfactory work relationships with the public and other employees, to deal effectively with co-workers, public and staff, to maintain confidentiality, and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work within a team environment, to adapt to new technology, and to operate standard office equipment.
- Able to prepare month end reports on client statistics
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook or Integrated Case Managment System an asset
**Qualifications and Experience**:
Completion of Grade 12; additional secretarial courses or the equivalent education and experience typically required for this position
**Salary**: $22.00 per hour
