**JOB SUMMARY**
- This job plays a critical role enhancing public safety and operational efficiency within the transit system.
- You are responsible for collecting and interpreting data related to criminal activities and incidents trends occurring within the transit network while following transit policies and procedures. You provide actionable insights and intelligence to support the Special Constable’s effort in preventing and responding to crime on transit.
You are also responsible for preparing and presenting data and facts to Team Leaders, Special Constables and management with respect to the Community Safety Policing Act and the Memorandum of Agreement with Ottawa Police.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Completion of a 4-year University degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience working in data management and/or quantitative analysis including data collection, predictive modelling, statistical analysis, data mining, data visualization, and performance measurement. Experience drafting reports and providing recommendations to management.

**KNOWLEDGE**
- Knowledge of data governance and data management practices
- Knowledge of data systems and statistical data collection
- Knowledge of survey and analysis techniques
- Knowledge of concepts of monitoring, evaluating, and reporting
- Understanding of developing data analytic models and frameworks
- Knowledge of database principles and structure
- Knowledge of statistical analysis, statistical methods related to quality tracking and reporting, interpretation, methods, tools and predictive modeling
- Understanding of emerging research methodology and technology
- Understanding of related software and information systems (i.e. database management tools, SAP, project management, etc.)
- General knowledge of corporate technology systems and databases, business intelligence and data visualization tools
- Knowledge of the transit industry
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers

- Strong analytical skills and research techniques
- Possess organizational skills and flexibility to plan, organize and prioritize own work and to deal effectively with multiple demands, conflicting priorities, pressures and deadlines
- MS Office Suite in a Windows environment, including use of the intra/Internet
- Possess computer literacy with relational data models and creating complex queries to transform data using for example Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server BI, or Python.
- Attentive to detail and able to interpret/analyze/evaluate large volumes or quality of data, to make decisions and formulate recommendations
- Possess analytical and problem-solving skills, to analyze issues and problems and develop realistic and innovative solutions
- Possess the ability to have mental and visual concentration, remain attentive to detail and able to interpret/analyze/evaluate large volumes or quality of data by external sources
- Ability to interpret and question veracity of data
- Possess consultative, collaboration and facilitation skills to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Possess effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
