This could be your chance to join our winning team We are currently looking for a **Manager for our Richmond Distribution Centre **who, in coordination with Managers from Montreal, will assist the Senior Manager, Distribution Centers in the execution excellence of the Logistics core functions in order to support the Distribution Centers as “one entity” and Corporate Objectives.
**What you'd be doing**:
**People Management**
- Ensure full cycle people performance management, presenteeism and absenteeism management for resource planning purposes, problem resolution where judgement and a high sense of ownership is expected in order to execute independently.
- Alongside other locations’ On-Site Supervisors define yearly objectives for Distribution Centre Associates and manage performances through one-on-one-meetings, Workday/ADP while developing Distribution Centre Associates using the Logistics Career Development program (LCD).
- Coach employees and foster positive team building and working relationships; promote understanding of a customer centric culture amongst DCAs.
- Ensure the development of the team members within the Logistics Career Development program (LCD) and provide sustainable development and training initiatives.
- Promote and educate on a safe working environment through compliance and understanding of Health & Safety, rules and standards and corporate policies and procedures.
**Operations Management**
- Lead the Distribution Centre operations (Inbound & Outbound) and team by setting clear and specific objectives, tracking operations and team performance, maintaining related KPIs (productivity-quality) and providing timely and constructive feedback that promotes growth.
- “Execution to the Targets-Objectives” is the Strategy expected from you, in the leading of Distribution Center Operations (Inbound & Outbound).
- Execute the local planning of the Daily Operations Plan provided by the National Operations Supervisor.
- Assign tasks according to daily plans, in coordination with Montreal and Brampton DC locations and Supply Chain, through the Throughput Daily Management System (whereby operations progress is measured against global monthly targets) and ensure a flag is raised to the National Operations Supervisor when there are limited resources.
- Manage inventory in SAP and asset integrity and be responsible for accurate cycle counts of inventory in compliance with protocols and report findings to the finance team.
- You will be responsible to manage facilities, supplies and equipment with focus on Health & Safety, cost efficiency while assuring quality and productivity. You will be in liaison with the landlord as you will be their point of contact.
- Be a backup to the National Operations Supervisor or other On-Site Supervisors when on vacation.
- Collaborate on centralized activities with the other Distribution Centre locations (LCD activities, support LCD Administrator, Surveys, Corporate activities).
- Maintain compliance with mandatory requirements such as WorkSafe, JSOX, year-end inventory audit and company policies and standards
- Participates in development of yearly business plan
- Effectively manage a budget and forecast monthly
**Continuous Improvement Ambassador**
- Be the Continuous Improvement champion by using and implementing the CI approach.
- Optimize efforts with technology, automation, physical infrastructure and make recommendations for Continuous Improvement purposes.
- P romote CI initiatives such as: Cost Control and reduction of costs, and adapting to processes to support customer’s needs, new requirements and opportunities.
- Any other work, duties, projects or ad hoc requests as assigned
**What we look for (Job Qualifications)**:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Managerial role in a Distribution Centre (Overall management of people; processes & procedures, tools & equipment)
- People management skills (managing at least 8 people) and team building skills
- Operations experience working with metrics e.g.: Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP or equivalent software (warehouse management system)
- Managing budget planning and maintenance (maintain basic related finances grids).
- Post-Secondary education (Logistics, SCM or equivalent) a plus
