Electrical Test Lab Technician

Centrally located in Toronto, Canada, Viscor is a division of Leviton Manufacturing's Lighting Business Unit operating in Canada for over 70 years.

We are currently looking for a test and compliance focused Engineer to join the Team. **SUMMARY OF POSITION**:
Reporting to the Product Technology Manager, the Electrical Engineer will utilize their skills to review product requirements, prepare and perform tests that cover all phases of product development, and analyze results to ensure all Viscor products meet performance and quality requirements.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead and perform tests including, but not limited to, thermal and photometric

Set up, calibrate and maintain test Instrumentation and equipment
- Install and maintain software related to testing and lab equipment
- Develop test procedures and generate detailed and accurate documentation related to all test reports and results
- Analyze test data and report findings
- Work with other Engineering, Product Management and Manufacturing personnel to create and establish test standards and processes and to collaborate on product development.
- Assist with NSF, UL, ETL and/or CSA audits and compliance activities
- Maintain lab; ensure a professional appearance and compliance with safety requirements.
- Attend training as necessary to further develop product and regulatory standards knowledge
- Assist in serving as a liaison for company audits by regulatory bodies and assist in incorporating corrective action when necessary.
- Other duties and projects as may be required

**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**
- Fluent in English - both written and verbal.
- Education or Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Electromechanical or other technical field (or substantial equivalent experience)
- Strong knowledge of LED Lighting, Lighting Controls and Drivers is an asset
- 1-5 years of related experience as a Test Engineer including hands on experience setting up test instrumentation
- Experience and knowledge of UL, NSF and CSA standards related to lighting
- Possess good problem solving skills to address production tests and engineering issues.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and within tight time frames
- Experience working with electrical and photometric testing equipment

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
