**Job Summary**
- The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Facilities Management plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient, effective and safe operation of the university’s physical infrastructure.
- Reporting to the Vice President of Finance and Administration (VPFA), the AVP leads a division of approximately 470 people and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facilities management, including maintenance, operations, groundskeeping, space management, planning, and capital projects.
- The AVP also works collaboratively with various internal and external partners to support the university’s mission and strategic goals.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Facilities Management department, aligning its goals with the university’s mission and objectives.
- Supervise and mentor a diverse team of facilities professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of capital projects, including new construction, renovations, and major repairs.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure the efficient and effective operation of all facilities services.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all university assets and grounds, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external partners, including regulators and trade unions, to ensure the ongoing success of strategic plans.

**Note**
- Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in person on campus. This position typically works in an office environment but may involve occasional exposure to outdoor conditions and construction sites.
- The AVP of Facilities Management must be available to respond to emergency situations as needed, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
