**The Role**:
The Carpenter Apprentice will be required to perform various physically demanding tasks and operate various power hand tools while working in a team and individual setting. The Carpenter Apprentice must have at least 1-2 years of carpentry experience.

**Responsibilities/Tasks**:

- Prefabrication, erection, and removal of structural formwork for concrete foundations, wall columns, beams, slabs, and shafts, including re-shoring
- Construct and maintain structural woodwork
- Make repairs to the internal and external structure
- Maintain company safety guidelines and practices
- Clean and preform preparation of construction work sites
- Use tools, materials, and equipment on site
- Assist erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring braces, ramps or other temporary structures
- Heavy lifting of equipment and project materials
- Load, unload and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations according to project plans and specifications
- Assist the Project Supervisor and Site Superintendent on site
- Perform demolition work

**Requirements**:

- Ability to provide physical effort - some heavy lifting required
- Comfortable using both hand and power tools
- Capable of reading blueprint drawings
- Previous experience in the commercial construction industry, preferred 1-2 years
- Experience using measurement tools
- Knowledge of workplace safety, and safe lifting and handling procedures
- Knowledge of First Aid and CPR preferred
- Able to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do the job
- Requires ability to climb ladders for heights
- Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, using abdominal and lower-back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
- 1st or 2nd year Carpenter Apprentice Accreditation
- Some travel required

**Experience**:
Construction: 1-2 years (preferred)

**Licence/Certification**:
Drivers License (required)

First Aid/CPR (preferred)

Fall Arrest (preferred)

Carpenter Apprentice (1st or 2nd year)

**Compensation**:
Based on relative experience and qualifications

Pay: $21.00-$27.00 per hour

Additional pay:

- Overtime pay

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
