**How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team**:
Reporting to the Technologist or Coordinator and under the direction of the Project Manager, the Crew Leader position is responsible for the daily support of planting implementation, communicating direction to field staff, and simple maintenance of vehicles and equipment. The Crew Leader provides support, technical expertise and leadership regarding planting restoration plans across the TRCA jurisdiction and leads crews to undertake planting implementation. Overall, this position plays an integral role in the implementation and restoration projects including wetlands, streams, shoreline enhancements, forests, meadows, and storm water management. Additonally, this position is responsible for inspecting the work performed and completed by staff, as directed by the Coordinator or Technologist to ensure adherance to corporate and municipal policies, procedures and by-laws, and compliance with provincial and federal legislation. This position contributes to the strategic plan objectives including improvement of water quality and aquatic ecosystem health; a network of green space and green infrastructure; and improving protection of our natural systems.

**Major Responsibilities**:
Project Implementation
- Responsible for site preparation and leading planting crews
- Provide on-site support and site-supervision tasks within planting projects
- Constantly adapt to site condition changes (weather, unexpected scenarios, equipment issues, design issues)
- Adapt to changes in planting plan on a regular basis under the direction of a Project Manager or Coordinator/Technologist
- Operate and maintain machinery and equipment as required (ranges from small tools to heavy equipment)
- Ensure health and safety measures are met
- Ensure site remains organized and in good condition
- May be asked to perform site visits including project start up, progress of implementation, and close out
- Provide general labor support

Project Planning
- Interpret planting plans
- Prepare on-site implementation documentation

- Transport dangerous goods (Fuel, Oil)
- Participate in the collection of field data to identify and guide habitat restoration opportunities.
- Adhere to TRCA Policy while executing daily tasks:

- TRCA Vehicle Safety, off road utility vehicles contractors, self-propelled machinery, fuel handling and storage, working in/on water, working around water, personal protective equipment, transportation of employees and seat belts, WHMIS/GHS, heat stress, working in cold, general road safety and traffic control.

Coordination
- Oversee staff on-site on a daily basis under the direction of the Project Manager and/or Technologist/Coordinator
- May be asked to participate in or execute daily project logistics, tracking and scheduling
