The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is an Academic Health Care Organization that aims to provide safe, effective and innovative care through evidence-based practice, training and research. The Research Scientist is a highly trained position that plays a critical role in assisting the SHA in achieving these strategic priorities by initiating and supporting research that impacts the health of people in Saskatchewan. The Research Scientist provides in-house support for high quality research that will promote intellectual curiosity within the organization. The Research Scientist will facilitate the recruitment and retention of highly qualified clinicians and scientists. The Research Scientist will lead and/or work as an essential member of proposal development team with opportunity to substantively contribute to cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary research proposals and to advance the strategic goals for the SHA.

**Experience**:

- Experience, at operational level, as a leader who has developed and led innovative planning and programs in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
- % plus years experience and evidence of proficiency in mixed health services research, clinical research, program evaluation, and or epidemiological research.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license

**Education**:

- PHD in appropriate area of Health Sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Licensed and in Good standing with professional association and/or regulatory body, if applicable.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Knowledge of legislation and applicable laws
- Knowledge of the healthcare system in Saskatchewan
- Has demonstrated ability to coach and develop others
- Has demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Has demonstrated strong critical thinking, financial, and analytical skills
- Exemplifies ethical practices, professionalism and personal integrity
- Ability to adapt to change and or unexpected developments
- Ability to integrate clinical knowledge and experience into activities to enhance clinical practice
- Demonstrate computer proficiency
- Basic knowledge of the LEAN management system
- A knowledge of Human Resources programs and system
- Promotes innovation, guides change and is committed to continuous improvement
- Has a proven ability to collaborate and partner with a wide variety of stakeholders, including community, to balance the needs and interests of these diverse groups while maintaining alignment with strategic priorities
- Demonstrates commitment to a diverse, culturally competent and culturally safe health system and representative workforce
- Demonstrates and is recognized for strategic and operational leadership that includes articulation of mission, vison, and strategy and charts a path forward
- Mobilizes people, inspires and leads by example

- Knowledge of First Nations and Metis History in Saskatchewan along with an understanding of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action
