**What you’ll do**

Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of Canadian Tire Bank (CTB), the AVP Enterprise Risk Management is responsible for leading a team that supports the CRO by maintaining, overseeing, and continually maturing CTB’s enterprise risk management program. You will work with business partners across the Bank to establish robust processes for identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring and reporting on risks. You will play an integral role interacting with senior management providing risk management expertise that supports the achievement of strategic objectives.
- Maintain, deliver, and enhance CTB’s Enterprise Risk Management program. Further refine existing processes, and develop new processes, for identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring and reporting on risks.
- Manage and oversee a Board-approved risk appetite framework that (i) is enterprise-wide and tailored to the Bank’s business activities and operations and (ii) sets basic goals, benchmarks, parameters and limits as to the amount of risk the Bank is willing to accept, taking into account various financial, operational and macroeconomic factors.
- Conduct assessments of new and revised risk related regulatory guidelines, raise awareness, and implement risk management processes aligned to applicable regulatory expectations.
- Challenge, advise and partner with business units and oversight functions to actively manage risk.
- Provide oversight of significant changes to credit risk strategies, and review of credit risk reporting and key processes to confirm adherence with credit policies.
- Oversee the implementation and delivery of CTB’s new Third Party Risk Management framework.
- Oversee and direct risk assessment and response activities as related to existing Bank risks and/or risks arising from new initiatives.
- Lead risk assessments and investigations as required by executive management.
- Assess the Bank’s key risk categories on a regular basis, and maintain a comprehensive and objective view of the Bank’s risk profile, key risk trends across the industry, emerging risks, and risk management best practices.
- Provide active risk representation at relevant meetings and committees, and promote the use of Bank-wide risk tools and practices.
- Lead the Bank’s Cross-functional Risk Committee by setting agenda of key risk discussion topics, maintaining work plan activities, and providing updates on risk management activities.
- Produce high-quality and accurate Board level risk management reporting to the Audit & Risk Management Committee on a regular basis.
- Promote a strong risk culture across CTB and encourage bringing our core values to life.
- Direct, support, and further develop a high-performing ERM team.

**What you bring**
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline
- 7+ years of risk management or equivalent business experience, preferably at a Canadian financial institution, including management and leadership experience
- Knowledge of financial (e.g. credit, liquidity) and non-financial (e.g. operational, third-party, cyber, technology) risk domains, risk management trends, and Canadian risk-related banking regulations
- Demonstrated ability to work in a complex environment and to build, develop and grow internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and writing skills
- Strong analytical skills to identify and assess risks from various sources of data
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities
- Strong knowledge of credit card business and Canadian banking regulations
