POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsible for the sanitation of the dry mix plant and the grounds surrounding the facility. Assure that the plant meets all sanitation standards established by regulatory and food safety audit agencies and customers.

Pay Rate: Rate of pay: $27.45 + Afternoon shift premium of $1 per hour

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- Perform sanitation tasks as per SSOP’s and master sanitation schedule
- Complete 100% of scheduled tasks on time
- Submit documentation for all completed tasks in a complete and accurate way by no later than end of shift each day
- Maintain overall plant sanitation to meet or exceed all requirements
- Comply with company safety and food safety policies at all times
- Work effectively with other departments to improve overall plant sanitation program
- Maintain work areas to include the proper cleaning and storing of work tools and chemicals
- Be able to identify and eradicate insect and pest infestations
- Help maintain culture of order, adherence and consistency by using tools such as 5S, SOP’s and process mapping.
- Waste management task list fulfilment (e.g. organic bin removal, compactor area cleaning after garbage collection, spills from organic bins).
- Performing chemical and sanitation supply inventory checks, as needed.
- On an as needed basis, may be required to perform the following:
Check sifter tailings

Clean exterior of equipment and surrounding areas after production changeover cleaning

Clean inside silos

Complete monthly safety or food safety checklists

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/LEVELS OF COMPETENCE
- High school graduate or GED (preferred)
- Previous experience in plant sanitation preferred
- Knowledge of basic Sanitation Techniques
- Previous Chemical Training / SSOP Training
- Good verbal and written communication skills essential
- Be comfortable working at variable heights.
- Ability to work overtime with limited notification - weekend work is required
- Capable of working in elements such as extreme temperatures, flour dust, fumes and occasional loud noises
