Our government client is looking for a **Telecommunication System Specialist** with experience with **Polycom systems, Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR), and integrated systems using equipment from Crestron, Extron, and other audio-visual original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).** This role is a **long-term 12-month contract with four additional one-year extension periods.**
You will be working within the Facilities group and will liaise/work on a daily basis with Facilities staff, OSFI employees, and external providers. The Specialists will have access to the videoconference codecs for troubleshooting.

Experience in the current VC/AV infrastructure;
- 75 Videoconference Rooms with Polycom Codecs or Microsoft Surface Hubs;
- Of which approx. 12 are integrated rooms using Crestron, Extron, and other OEM equipment;
- Most rooms/codecs run in Native MTR Mode;
- Poly Realconnect for Microsoft Teams connectivity with legacy boardrooms.
- Polycom Based Bridge (RMX 2000) with DMA, RPRM, and DMA Edges;
**Responsibilities**

The Specialists must perform the following activities, but are not limited to:
Work with the facilities team with the implementation and upkeep of the Videoconference and Audio-Visual (VC/AV) infrastructure, including but not limited to:

- Participate in design, technical, and management reviews to monitor, advise, and report on progress and potential problems.
- Prepare planning and procurement support documentation for miscellaneous interface and ancillary facility items, such as technical data specifications, plans and drawings, standards, and Statements of Work (SOWs).
- Review, analyze, and provide recommendations for VC and AV system components and associated documentation.
- Recommend VC and AV system-level solutions for discrepancies, deficiencies, and changes to equipment and specifications.
- Analyze VC and AV system deficiencies and recommends cost-effective solutions.

Liaison between the client and External Providers includes, but is not limited to:

- Oversee installation of new systems and integrated rooms and conduct system testing and evaluation.
- Ensure rooms are available and booked for scheduled technicians.
- Open, track, monitor, advise and report on service tickets with maintenance agreement providers.

Daily Assistance of employee VC and AV equipment includes, but is not limited to:

- Troubleshooting daily calls.
- Assistance with the setup of scheduled videoconferences.
- Testing systems with external participants using Microsoft Teams, the Videoconference Bridge (Polycom RMX), or other related Videoconferencing systems (software or hardware).
- Training of employees so they become proficient users of VC and AV systems.

Work with the Facilities supervisor on the implementation of the following initiatives, but not limited to:

- Implementation of audio-visual and videoconferencing technology aligned with GC Workplace and activity-based work.
- Life-cycling of equipment and upgrade plans.
- Yearly audit activities and inventorying of equipment and material.
