Overview:
Aggregates is an exciting industry where successful applicants get to experience the innovative and challenging world of mining while still being situated in an urban environment. As a member of the Mosport site team, the Plant Operator executes the daily tasks of operating and maintaining an aggregate screening plant and performs administration related to the plant operation. In addition, the operator will assist and/or cover for shipping operations as required.

**Responsibilities**:
**Safety**
- Pursue a culture of safety that is best in class with an objective of “zero” safety incidents.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Follow all safety requirements and communicate any suggestions or concerns.
- Ensure that plant and surrounding site is kept safe, presentable, and functional.
- Maintain environmental sustainability in plant and site operation

**Plant Operation**
- Ensure assigned equipment is operated to original equipment manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices and that product outputs meet material quality specifications.
- Complete, review, and dissect daily, weekly, monthly, and annual plant operation reports and metrics

**Plant Maintenance**
- Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections and preventative maintenance actions are scheduled and completed.
- Remove, rebuild, and replace component parts as required.
- Design and fabricate plant components as required.
- Complete, review, and dissect daily, weekly, monthly, and annual plant and equipment maintenance reports and schedules

**Other**
- Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the plant and site

**Relationships with Others Jobs**
- Reports to the Plant Superintendent
- This position requires extensive liaison with site quality control technician and site shipping loader operator

Qualifications:
**_
Education & Work Experience:_**
- Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent
- Industrial plant operation experience an asset
- Heavy mobile equipment operation experience an asset

**_ Knowledge & Skills:_**
- First aid, WHMIS, Surface Miner training, confined space training, working-at-heights training
- Specific mobile equipment training (especially wheel loader)
- Welding / fabrication an asset
- Computer literacy an asset
