**Full Time Labour Relations Advisor**

Division: Labour Relations and Emergency Management
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Location: 150 Frederick St. Kitchener (Hybrid)

**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Manager, Labour Relations, this exciting opportunity would be well suited for an enthusiastic, creative and collaborative self-starter who thrives in an environment of innovation and change. The Labour Relations Advisor will provide leadership, guidance, support and oversight on a variety of employee and labour relations matters including Collective Agreement interpretation, discipline, grievance management, mediations, arbitrations, investigations, education and policies.

- Represent the Region at grievance mediation.
- Represent the Region and advise legal counsel at grievance arbitration and quasi-judicial hearings such as the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal and Labour Relation Board.
- Represent the Region in the collective bargaining process.
- Participate and facilitate labour management meetings and other ad hoc meetings with Union representatives.
- Act as principal contact for Union leadership.
- Provide advice and support to the Human Resources People Partners and other HR staff and a variety of issues.
- The requirements for this position would normally be acquired through post-secondary education in Labour Relations or a related discipline, plus progressively responsible experience working in highly unionized public sector environment.Designation as a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) is an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of Human Resources and Labour Relations concepts, practices, methods and techniques, with emphasis on recruitment.
- Collaborative and interest-based approach to problem solving.
- Excellent oral, interpersonal, written communication skills, and presentation skills.
- Tact, diplomacy and mature judgment and the ability act appropriately in the face of adversity.
- Strong leadership and problem solving skills.
- Effective consultation and coaching skills.
- Demonstrated relationship-building skills and the ability to build trust at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to support and demonstrate the Region’s values.

**Compensation**:
In addition to offering a competitive compensation package, we have a strong focus on health and wellness, including fitness facilities and family-focused benefits. The salary of this position ranges between $82,427.80-$103,030.20 per annum (Grade 6 on the Management & Management Support wage scale).
