Class 1 Heavy Equipment/truck Operator

**Calling all class 1 operators**

**Must (HAVES) requirements**:

- Heavy equipment operations and truck driving experience
- Valid class 1 license
- Negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Clean 3 years commercial abstract required
- Safety tickets

**Responsibilities**:

- Labourer work: 20%
- Driving & Operating heavy equipment: 80%
- Attend morning meetings
- Complete and communicate hazard assessment
- Load and unload materials, including concrete, aggregates, and other construction materials.
- Excavate, grade, and prepare construction sites for concrete foundations and structures.
- Load and unload materials, including concrete, aggregates, and other construction materials.
- Assist with the placement and finishing of concrete, ensuring proper handling and safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance (pre and post-trip inspection) and safety checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Start and end of day tools and materials checks.
- Collaborate with the construction crew to achieve project milestones and deadlines.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Complete time sheet in timely manner
- Coordinate and manage materials/equipment inventory
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other site personnel.
- **Perform other duties as assigned**

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent.
- License**: A valid class 1 driver’s license and a clean abstract
- **Experience**: Minimum 3 years in residential equipment operation
- **Certification**: Additional certifications in specific equipment operation (e.g., hoe, crane, and forklift) and experience with GPS and other advanced equipment technologies is an asset.
- **Must be willing to work half days on Saturdays**:

**Operator Capabilities**:

- Excavating, ripping, grading, stockpiling, stripping, trenching, loading, hauling, backfilling, and compacting for residential and commercial foundations.

**Physical Capabilities**:

- Physically Fit/ able to handle heavy loads up to 45kg (100lbs).
- Able to work long hours in various positions and do repetitive tasks.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Enjoy working outdoors.
