Our client is a prominent law firm located in downtown Toronto. They are seeking a Finance Controller to oversee all financial operations within the firm. This role will report directly to the Senior VP, Finance and collaborate closely with the management team to drive strategic financial planning and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the finance team, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Manage the annual budgeting process, including financial forecasts and analysis of budget variances.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, financial regulations, and company policies.
- Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Support the due diligence process for mergers and acquisitions, including financial modeling and analysis.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide financial analysis and insights on business performance.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns, including income tax and sales tax.
- Support the external audit process, including the preparation of audit schedules and coordination with external auditors.
- Monitor cash flow and working capital to ensure sufficient liquidity for the business.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.

**Requirements**:
**Education**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or other relevant professional accounting designation required.

**Experience**:

- 5+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and other financial regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience with financial systems, including ERP systems and other financial reporting tools.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.

**Salary**: $110,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
