**Port City Home Services** **Home Support Worker - Community Focused** "Living well" means something different to each of us. Port City Home Services strives to help seniors live well, wherever they call home, with a wide variety of reliable services to fit their unique lifestyle and needs. **Port City Home Services** is looking for caring, competent **In Home Support Workers (IHSW)** to join our team. As an IHSW, your main responsibility will be to care for our clients in a professional and compassionate manner in their own homes to "live well." **Duties include but are not limited to**: Basic food preparation preparing meals, shopping, housekeeping, laundry and other errands General health care (medication and appointment reminders) Mobility Assistance (help with getting in and out of a wheelchair, car or shower) Companionship and emotional support Home Organization (help with organizing, packing or cleaning, general house care) Health monitoring (following a care plan and noticing any changes in the individual's health, recording and reporting any differences) assist clients with running errands, and help getting in and out of wheelchair accessible vehicles. **Job requirements and qualifications**:18 years of age or older Proven experience as an IHSW Excellent knowledge of emergency and first aid Driver's license and access to vehicle an asset Ability to work independently Ability to work shift work Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking. Adhere to health and safety standards Be respectful and compassionate Excellent time management skills Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills Strong ethics. Physical endurance.
